Connect with soccer stars during Euros

“Football Connect” is one of the more unique apps to play with while you’re watching a sports game, as users are given a Bingo-like board filled with different events that can occur during a game, such as a Wayne Rooney yellow card or Fernando Torres assist.

This Sunday during the Euro 2012 Final between Spain and Italy, you can play this game against one of several American soccer stars.

Alex Morgan, Freddy Adu, Sacha Kljestan, Heather O’Reilly and Edson Buddle will be playing "Football Connect" with users during the championship game on Sunday afternoon. Each player will have their own room with 100 spots available on a first-come, first-served basis.

“Soccer players seem to be very connected with their fans, and particularly Freddy and Alex seem to be very active with their fans on Twitter,” said OneUp Games CEO Daren Trousdell, adding it wasn’t difficult to snag any of the soccer players for this promotion. “They seem to look at this as another way to connect with soccer fans.”

The players will mostly be chatting with fans, but they’ll also be playing the “Connect” game in a challenge against their room.

OneUp also has “Connect” apps for basketball and football, all of which are free in the iTunes store.
