Michigan State's defense finally gave up a touchdown, but it still locked down when it counted against Notre Dame in this week's EA Sports Simulation Engine featured game.

The No. 10 Spartans held off the No. 20 Fighting Irish with a game-clinching interception in the final minutes, thwarting a comeback attempt and remaining undefeated with a 30-27 victory.

Michigan State quarterback Andrew Maxwell threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to erase a 13-point deficit. Spartans running back Le'Veon Bell continued his stellar play, scoring on a 12-yard run in the first quarter.

It looked as if the Fighting Irish were going to cruise to a victory after Everett Golson hit TJ Jones for a 55-yard touchdown and Tyler Eifert for a 22-yard score. When Theo Riddick rushed in a 32-yard score, Notre Dame looked prime to win with a 27-14 lead in the final quarter.

But that's when Maxwell and the Spartans' D took over, denying Notre Dame what would have been a huge road victory.
