'NFL Blitz' Roster Reveal: NFC North

A healthy Matt Forte should make the Bears a fun team to play as in "NFL Blitz." EA Sports

Aaron Rodgers is on fire. Scary thought for virtual defenses everywhere as Rodgers drops back in "NFL Blitz" and throws a scorcher downfield to a leaping Greg Jennings. Unstoppable? Pretty much. Then again, when you're the defending champs (and currently undefeated), maybe that's just how you roll.

But the Packers are just one of the rosters revealed exclusively today on ESPN, as we break down all of the lineups that gamers will be able to play as once "NFL Blitz" hits the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network January 4.

And in case you missed yesterday's reveal, checkout the NFC East lineups from yesterday. If anyone can stop the Packers in "Blitz," it might just be those virtual Eagles.

CHICAGO BEARS

The more I look at the Bears "Blitz" lineup, the more I love it. Jay Cutler has a cannon, Knox and Hester are two of the fastest receivers in the game, Matt Forte is great out of the backfield catching passes, and that defense can really smack some people around and create havoc (and turnovers!). Definitely a must-play team for "Blitz" fans.

OFFENSE:

  • Jay Cutler: QB

  • Matt Forte: RB

  • Devin Hester: WR

  • Johnny Knox: WR

  • Gabe Carimi: OT

  • J'Marcus Webb: OT

  • Roberto Garza: C

    DEFENSE:

  • Israel Idonije: DE

  • Julius Peppers: DE

  • Tim Jennings: CB

  • Charles Tillman: CB

  • Anthony Adams: DT

  • Chris Harris: S

  • Brian Urlacher: LB

    SPECIAL TEAMS:

    DETROIT LIONS

At a recent "NFL Blitz" preview event, this is the team I played as most, and nobody even came close to beating me. Sure, I have some of those old-school "Blitz" skills, but in the Lions, you also have one of the biggest, baddest weapons in the game, and he goes by the name Calvin Johnson. Basically, throw the ball up, and Megatron will out-jump the defense, holding on to the rock even after the hardest hit. But that's not all as Johnson also possesses the speed to get behind the defense on just about any play. Then once your opponent focuses on stopping Johnson, put the back in motion and send him to the opposite side of the field and all of a sudden you have the lightning-fast Jahvid Best running wild and free for the score.

    OFFENSE:

  • Matthew Stafford: QB

  • Jahvid Best: RB

  • Calvin Johnson: WR

  • Brandon Pettigrew: TE

  • Jeff Backus: OT

  • Gosder Cherilus: OT

  • Dominic Raiola: C

    DEFENSE:

  • Cliff Avril: DE

  • Kyle Vanden Bosch: DE

  • Ndamukong Suh: DT

  • Eric Wright: CB

  • Chris Houston: CB

  • Louis Delmas: S

  • Stephen Tulloch: LB

    SPECIAL TEAMS:

  • Ryan Donahue: P

  • Jason Hanson: K

    GREEN BAY PACKERS

If I have one gripe about the roster, it's the lack of Jordy Nelson. In a game like "Blitz," the big tight end who can catch the ball over the middle of the field is a valuable weapon, but just imagine if you replaced Finley with Nelson. The speed out on the field would be almost impossible to match-up with for defenses trying to cover the two receivers. Other than that, this team is money on both sides of the ball, especially with Matthews getting sacks and Woodson out in the secondary picking off passes.

    OFFENSE:

  • Aaron Rodgers: QB

  • Ryan Grant: RB

  • Greg Jennings: WR

  • Jermichael Finley: TE

  • Chad Clifton: OT

  • Bryan Bulaga: OT

  • Scott Wells: C

    DEFENSE:

  • Ryan Pickett: DE

  • Mike Neal: DE

  • B.J. Raji: DT

  • Tramon Williams: CB

  • Charles Woodson: CB

  • Nick Collins: S

  • Clay Matthews: LB

    SPECIAL TEAMS:

  • Mason Crosby: K

  • Tim Masthay: P

    MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Anyone who plays "Madden" knows that Adrian Peterson is a player born to be a video game character. Throw in Percy Harvin and you have an offense that can uses some of "Blitz's" lateral plays to frustrate opponents.

    OFFENSE:

  • Christian Ponder: QB

  • Adrian Peterson: RB

  • Percy Harvin: WR

  • Visanthe Shiancoe: TE

  • Charlie Johnson: OT

  • Phil Loadholt: OT

  • John Sullivan: C

    DEFENSE:

  • Brian Robison: DE

  • Jared Allen: DE

  • Cedric Griffin: CB

  • Antoine Winfield: CB

  • Kevin Williams: DT

  • Husain Abdullah: S

  • Chad Greenway: LB
