Stunt king Steve-O talks on 'Killer Karaoke'

Steve-O, who started videotaping his dangerous skateboarding tricks at the age of 15 and performed outrageous stunts for 20 years, never thought he'd be here today.

"I don't want to sound dark but I never thought I'd live this long," said the 38-year-old Stephen Glover, who starred on MTV's "Jackass" and the accompanying movies for years. "I thought as a kid I would videotape my stunts and it would be immortalized forever. We are all going to die, but I thought I'll get to give longer after my years on Earth."

Now clean and sober since 2008, Steve-O has focused on a vegan lifestyle in California and fulfilling every dream imaginable. He competed on "Dancing with the Stars" in 2009. He starred in blockbuster movie "Jackass 3D" in 2010. And he released his autobiography in 2011.

Tonight, Steve-O will host truTV's new show -- Killer Karaoke -- as contestants are challenged to perform their favorite songs in extreme and outrageous circumstances.

Steve-O seems a natural host for the show. He has spent the past few years working on his stand-up comedic routine but admits he can't sing.

"I wouldn't even dream of doing this, but I do love music. I'm particularly into the original soundtrack to the first 'Footloose' movie from the 1980s. It's like jumping in a time machine," Steve-O said. "My first reaction when asked about doing the show was realizing that I would be gainfully employed for doing something more than hurting myself."

That doesn't mean Steve-O has given up his outlandish style totally.

"I don't know if anybody else has been asked more often, 'Dude, any way you can kick me in the nuts?'" Steve-O said. "I'm a nice guy. Of course, I'll kick them in the nuts. That's the kind of guy I am. Who am I to turn down that kind of request?"
