Olympic Trending: Phelps and gymnastics

The Commander in Chief, Superman and Twitter's reigning King and Queen all took some time to catch up on the latest Olympic results Tuesday night:

Back at you, Mr. President:

And this from the NBA's first native of Krypton, who tuned into the women's gymnastics all-around team final. Congratulations went to Aly Raisman, Gabby Douglas, Kyla Ross, McKayla Maroney and Jordyn Wieber.

Lady Gaga was watching, too:

Justin Bieber, who dropped in on Missy Franklin Monday, was back at it again, cheering on America's gymnasts. He later tweeted that it was "now time for Canada to win some."

Phelps was joined in the 4x200-meter freestyle relay by Conor Dwyer, Ryan Lochte and Ricky Berens, earning his 15th gold medal.

Obama was not alone in his admiration of Phelps, now the most decorated Olympian ever with 19 medals. His fellow Americans joined in offering their praise, both back home and poolside in London:

Kobe Bryant, who sat during most of Team USA's 110-63 rout of Tunisia, was more impressed with Phelps, writing on Facebook: "19 medals. 15 Golds. The amount of focus is beyond understanding. We should all embrace his Olympic Era because we truly have been witnessing history in the making."

Phelps has a chance for three more medals before the London Games are complete. But here's a breakdown of his number thus far:

And a few more kudos:

After it was over, Berens had the feast of champions -- courtesy of the McDonald's in the athletes' village:

Let's hope sharks are not allergic to gold.

Team USA's #Fab5 put the "team" in women's team gymnastics with their combined effort for the all-around gold medal.

It was the first all-around team gold medal for the United States since 1996, an event none of the current team members are old enough to remember. That feat was not lost on this 1984 gold medalist:

Olympic dreams do come true, even if they take a couple of days:

Cheers.
