Lochte joins Olympians making TV cameos

With Olympic champion Ryan Lochte set to appear on the Oct. 29 episode of "90210," Playbook has decided to look back at memorable moments of Olympians on television. We've broken them into two categories: athletes known just for the Olympics and athletes who are known for some other sport but have appeared in the Olympics.

We've purposely decided not to include Olympians who have appeared on reality shows such as "Dancing With the Stars" and special segments such as Olympians on "The Weakest Link" or "Battle of the Network Stars."

Our Fierce 5 pure Olympians

5. 2008 Olympic champion Nastia Liukin on 2008 episode of "Gossip Girl."

4. 1992 Olympic swimming champion Summer Sanders on 2007 episode of Nickelodeon's "Figure it Out."

3. 1984 and 1988 Olympic champion Greg Louganis on 2012 episode of "Portlandia."

2. 2008 Olympic champion Shawn Johnson on 2008 episode of "The Secret Life of the American Teenager."

And ...

No. 1 Olympic champion Michael Phelps on 2008 episode of HBO's "Entourage."

And here's our Olympians who are known for another sport but have appeared on TV:

5. NBA champion and 2012 Olympian LeBron James on 2009 episode of "Entourage."

4. Boxing legend and 1960 Olympian Muhammad Ali on 1979 episode of "Diff'rent Strokes."

3. NBA legend and 1992 Olympian Patrick Ewing on 1997 episode of "Spin City."

2. Former Los Angeles Lakers great and 1996 Olympian Shaquille O'Neal on 2011 episode of "Curb Your Enthusiam."
