College football is back. Not surprisingly, it was a trending topic Thursday on Twitter.

How long has it been? Guess that remains a matter of perspective:

If you count the Senior Bowl, it's been only 215 days.

There are plenty of apt analogies that apply as college football season begins tonight with 15 games on the schedule. The Texas A&M-Louisiana Tech game has been re-scheduled for Oct. 13 due to now-Tropical Storm Isaac. The football drought officially ends with a 7 p.m. ET kickoff for five games -- including the SEC showdown between South Carolina and host Vanderbilt on ESPN.

Well, almost.

Who's No. 1?

The Tigers -- along with residents across Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi -- continue to weather the ongoing downpours and heavy winds from Isaac. LSU is scheduled to host North Texas Saturday night.
