Perhaps the San Francisco 49ers are trying to keep some of the band together after all.
Ronald Curry, an offensive assistant since 2013, is apparently worth keeping around and the Niners have denied the Buffalo Bills permission to interview him for a spot on offensive coordinator Greg Roman’s staff, according to CSNBayArea.com.
Yes, the same Roman who was the Niners’ OC from 2011 through 2014 but was allowed to leave and join Rex Ryan in Western New York.
Quarterbacks coach Jeep Chryst, who came to the Niners with Jim Harbaugh in 2011, has reportedly been retained, along with running backs coach Tom Rathman.
Chris Foerster is reportedly coming back to coach the offensive line with Eric Wolford coming to be his assistant.
Former Oakland Raiders defensive coordinator Jason Tarver is a candidate for the same role on new coach Jim Tomsula’s staff, and Lane Kiffin is a front runner to become the 49ers’ new offensive coordinator, while other names such as Mike Shanahan, Rob Chudzinski and Marc Trestman also have been linked to the job.
