Getting to know Tony Jerod-Eddie

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The San Francisco 49ers have been using their depth on defense as several key players have been sidelined.

The latest to go down is defensive lineman Ray McDonald, who injured his right biceps and could miss some time. If McDonald is out, he will be replaced by Tony Jerod-Eddie. Here's a look at Jerod-Eddie:

Height/weight: 6-foot-5, 301 pounds

School: Texas A&M

How acquired: Undrafted free agent in 2012 (with that draft class a near total bust, perhaps he can salvage it)

Career NFL games: Five

What’s expected from him: Be a solid rotational player

Career highlight: An interception Sunday night against Houston after he replaced McDonald

Did you know? He was a high school (De Soto, Texas) and college teammate of Denver star pass-rusher Von Miller.
