49ers hope to continue East Coast success

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- What might be a cure for the San Francisco 49ers' two-game losing skid?

A trip to the East Coast. The 49ers play at the Washington Redskins on "Monday Night Football.'

The 49ers have been the premier West Coast team while playing in the Eastern Time zone in the past three seasons.

San Francisco is 6-1 on the East Coast since 2011. Their one loss came at Baltimore on Thanksgiving, 2011. The 49ers, who play at Tampa Bay in December, also have a win over Jacksonville in London this season.

The 49ers are, by far, the most successful West Coast team on the East Coast since 2011. Seattle is 5-5, San Diego is 5-7 and Oakland is 0-9.

Perhaps hitting the road to the nation's capital on Saturday is the best thing for the 6-4 49ers.
