No quarterback in the NFL has been as effective as Colin Kaepernick over the course of the past six weeks.
Heading into Sunday's wild-card game at Green Bay, Kaepernick has thrown 10 touchdowns and just one interception in his past six games. It’s the best touchdown-interception ratio in the NFL over that span.
He has a Total QBR of 76.3 in that span. It’s the third best in the NFL. His 8.5 yards per attempt is also the third most. The 49ers have won all six of those games. Their win streak is the longest in the NFL.
A key to Kaepernick’s success has been the return of receiver Michael Crabtree, who has played in the past five games. Since Crabtree’s return, Kaepernick has completed 61.7 percent of his passes. He completed 56.7 percent of his passes in the first 11 games of the season.
The 49ers anticipated Crabtree’s return would spark Kaepernick, but I doubt they thought it would have such a dramatic, instant impact.
