For San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh, one of the best aspects of Colin Kaepernick's new six-year extension is the fact that his quarterback can now relax and focus on his growth as a football player.
"Going through a season now, [he's] not having to think about contracts or questions about longevity and maybe pressure on him to put up certain statistics or numbers," Harbaugh told reporters Friday as the team had United States Army Captain Mike Viti to speak with the 49ers rookie class.
"I think it was a great, life-changing moment for Colin, for our team ... I'm equally as excited about it," Harbaugh added. "Colin is a great football player and a great teammate."
