GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Night time is the right time under Pete Carroll.
Since Carroll became the head coach for the Seattle Seahawks in 2010, the team is 6-1 in games on Sunday, Monday or Thursday nights.
The Seahawks will try to improve on that mark against the Arizona Cardinals Thursday night at University of Phoenix Stadium, but there is one negative stat to the number above.
The one road game in those seven night matchups was a loss on a Thursday night. Seattle lost 13-6 at San Francisco on Oct. 18, one year ago. The Seahawks and the Cardinals have not met previously in a night game since Carroll became the coach.
Seattle has averaged 24.0 points in the seven night games under Carroll while allowing an average of 10.6 points. The Seahawks are 1-1 in Thursday night games, defeating the Philadelphia Eagles 31-14 at CenturyLink Field on Dec. 1, 2011.
Here are a few other interesting stats heading into the game Thursday night:
Wilson finishes strong: Wilson has led the Seahawks to six fourth-quarter comebacks in his 25 career starts, including twice on the road this season against Carolina and Houston (overtime). But Wilson also has led the team to victory three other times when Seattle entered the fourth quarter tied with its opponent, including last weekend against Tennessee.
Beast Mode versus the Cardinals: In Seattle’s last three games against Arizona, Marshawn Lynch has rushed for 299 yards, three touchdowns and a 5.8-yard average per carry.
Youth is served: In the previous two games, the Seahawks had the youngest starting offensive unit in the NFL. Last week. Seattle’s average age among the offensive starters was 25 years, 348 days. That number will go up a little Thursday night when tight end Zach Miller (27) returns as a starter.
Left tackle Paul McQuistan is the oldest offensive starter at age 30. Three starters are 24 or younger -- Wilson (24), right guard J.R. Sweezy (24) and rookie right tackle Michael Bowie (22). Fullback Derrick Coleman, who may or may not be in the game for the first offensive play, turns 23 on Friday.
