Seahawks make more roster cuts

RENTON, Wash. -- The Seattle Seahawks made eight roster cuts Monday and placed rookie defensive tackle Jesse Williams on injured reserve.

Seattle released linebackers Kyle Knox and Craig Wilkins, tight ends Jameson Konz, Andrei Lintz and Kyle Nelson, defensive tackle Martin Parker and receiver Perez Ashford. The Seahawks also terminated the contract of receiver Brett Swain.

Williams, an Australian and a fifth-round draft choice from Alabama, looked good in camp but suffered a knee injury two weeks ago. By placing Williams on IR now, he is out for the season.
