The Seahawks have signed NFL guard Stephen Schilling, a local guy from Bellevue, Wash., sources confirmed Thursday.
Schilling (6-5, 310) spent three seasons in the San Diego Chargers organization, playing in 17 games. He was a four-year starter at Michigan after playing at Bellevue High School. He played offensive tackle for most of his college career before moving to guard in the NFL after the Chargers drafted him in in the sixth round in 2011.
Shilling will add depth on a line that could lose guard/tackle Paul McQuistan, a free agent who started 14 games last season and earned $3.4 million.
