Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell shook things up at the town hall meeting when he said the team would have a running game by committee in 2014, but he also had some other interesting comments.
Here are a few of those:
On quarterback Russell Wilson: “The things that stand out the most are his intangibles. The No. 1 thing is his unwillingness to let himself fail. He does whatever he can to put himself in position to be successful.
“His preparation and decision-making set him apart. He’s very unique in his mindset. He’s as mentally tough a person as I’ve been around. He never flinches in any situation.’’
On the type of offense they want: “We want to be a tough, hard-nosed football team, and we think everything is set up off the run. It’s the easiest way to make positive things happen.”
“They bounce off people and keep their legs churning. Marshawn is really quick in short areas. He can make people miss in a phone booth. Adrian is a bit more of a long strider.”
On tight end Anthony McCoy, who missed the 2013 season after undergoing ankle surgery: “He looking great coming back from the injury.”
On the attitude of the team so far in organized team activities: “You wouldn’t know that we just won the Super Bowl from the work ethic the guys have shown.”
