RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn may be headed to Atlanta immediately after the Super Bowl to become the head coach of the Falcons, but for now he is busily preparing his players for a New England Patriots offense that changes more than a chameleon.
"Yes, this is a big playbook," Quinn said of the Patriots. "When we go against them, it's a long preparation that goes into it."
The Patriots may use more formations in more ways than any other team in the NFL. And it's a guess as to how they will use those formations.
In the words of Forrest Gump, "You never know what you're gonna get."
"They can use a number of different personnel groups, from big groups to small groups, different features and different styles," Quinn said. "So it makes us go through the whole process and it's a great challenge for us. You have to go about preparing for a lot of it. We'll let the game unfold and play it from there, but they do have a big book of stuff."
