The "Operation Win" theme is paying off for first-year Kentucky coach Joker Phillips on the recruiting trail.
Phillips knows his way around the state. He grew up in Kentucky, played football at Kentucky, and now he's making sure to keep the best prospects in the state at home. This is a better year in-state for football talent than it was a year ago, but Phillips has also been able to go outside the state and win some key recruiting battles.
The Wildcats are already up to 17 commitments from nine different states for the 2011 class, and ESPN recruiting analyst Jamie Newberg takes a closer look at how Phillips and his staff have gone about it and what else is still out there for this class.
