Former South Carolina quarterback Chris Smelley might not be finished with college football after all.
Smelley, who transferred to Alabama to play baseball, told Gentry Estes of The Mobile Press-Register that he's already spoken with Nick Saban about the possibility of playing football for the Crimson Tide during the 2010 season.
Unless he wins an appeal, Smelley will not be eligible to play baseball this season for Alabama. If he does decide to play football for the Tide, he would have to sit out the 2009 season, per NCAA transfer rules.
