Clemson's Koenning apologizes for comments

Clemson defensive coordinator Vic Koenning apologized for "kidding around" with reporters about Alabama freshmen Julio Jones and B.J. Scott both driving Escalades when he was down in South Alabama recruiting earlier this year.

Initially, Scott's high school coach at Vigor High, Kerry Stevenson, wasn't amused and advised Koenning not to come back to his high school. Stevenson later relented after talking with Koenning and hearing his explanation.

Clemson's Tommy Bowden weighed in on the situation at his press conference, and Koenning admitted that he created the whole frenzy, which obviously didn't go over well in Tide Land.

It should be fun on Saturday night at the Georgia Dome.
