Auburn running to history

Don't look now, but Auburn's running game is for real. The Tigers are pounding Mississippi State, 42-17, in the fourth quarter.

The Bulldogs probably have tire tracks on their backs courtesy of Ben Tate and Onterio McCalebb, both of whom have already rushed for more than 100 yards.

It's the first time in Auburn history that two players have rushed for more than 100 yards in consecutive games. That's saying something when you consider all the great backfield tandems that have come through the Plains.

Ronnie Brown and Carnell Williams come to mind, as do Joe Cribbs and James Brooks. And what about Bo Jackson and Lionel "Little Train" James?
