LSU uncharacteristically lost out on a couple of high-profile prospects in the state of Louisiana, but the Tigers still put together a top 15 class nationally.
Coach Les Miles announced 22 signees, and five of those are already enrolled in school.
Headlining the class are five ESPNU 150 prospects. The big pickup on signing day was outside linebacker Kwon Alexander, ranked by ESPN as the No. 3 outside linebacker prospect in the country. Getting Alexander out of Oxford, Ala., helped ease the sting of losing defensive end/linebacker Torshiro Davis of Shreveport, La., to Texas.
The last player to fax in his paperwork Wednesday was receiver Avery Johnson of Pompano Beach, Fla. Johnson is the younger brother of former LSU great Patrick Peterson.
