They need to start calling Connor Shaw the Six Million Dollar Man.
It might be cliche, but it's almost like that shoulder fracture made him a better player. With his right arm basically held together with tape and Krazy Glue, South Carolina's quarterback made mincemeat of Missouri's defense by passing for 249 yards and two touchdowns and completing 20 of his 21 passes. His worst throw of the day came on his first attempt, which was his only incompletion of the day.
Shaw set a school record with his completion percentage of 95.2. It's also the second highest in SEC history. His 20 consecutive completed passes is second in SEC history, as well.
Shaw didn't hold back from running, either, as he carried the ball 12 times for 41 yards. Talk about toughness.
Doctors and trainers told coach Steve Spurrier that Shaw's shoulder injury couldn't be made worse with more contact and it appeared that was indeed the case. Either that, or Shaw is fantastic at hiding his emotions.
What a gamer.
