GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Greetings from inside the Swamp!
We have quite the game coming up between No. 4 LSU (5-0) and No. 10 Florida (5-0). All the hype has this town pretty confident in its team, especially with LSU not looking so sound in its last two games.
But LSU players are much more focused for this game. Practices were more intense and it sounds like players weren't too happy about their last two performances.
This team will be ready for the Gators.
The key for LSU is making Zach Mettenberger comfortable. He hasn't looked very comfortable out there the last two games and if the Tigers are going to come out of the Swamp with a victory, Mettenberger has to be composed. The good news is the Tigers can run the ball. Run and run and run.
LSU's foursome at running back was way too much for the Gators last year, and expect Les Miles to give the ball to his backs as much as possible. If the Gators can't stop that, this team will get worn out just like last season.
For Florida, the pressure is on quarterback Jeff Driskel. He's been rock solid for the Gators this year, but this is easily the best defense he'll face to this point. LSU is going to try and bring a ton of pressure his way, so his legs will be moving all day. Keep an eye on running back Mike Gillislee. He'll have to be able to run the ball through the middle of the field.
We're about to see a very physical game. This would should be fun.
