The SEC placed eight players on the 2012 AFCA (American Football Coaches Association) FBS Coaches All-America team.
Alabama led the way with three players -- offensive guard Chance Warmack, linebacker C.J. Mosley and cornerback Dee Milliner.
Texas A&M had two players on the team -- offensive tackle Luke Joeckel and defensive end Damontre Moore.
The other three from the SEC making the team were South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, Georgia outside linebacker Jarvis Jones and LSU safety Eric Reid.
The most obvious omissions from the SEC were Alabama center Barrett Jones and Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel.
