Two of the SEC's four new head coaches will get things rolling this weekend.
Butch Jones' Tennessee team opens spring practice on Saturday, while Bret Bielema's Arkansas club has its first practice scheduled for Sunday.
Mark Stoops and Kentucky will get spring ball under way on March 18, while Gus Malzahn and Auburn don't start until March 27.
All four head coaches inherit teams that finished with losing records last season. In fact, Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky and Tennessee combined to win just three SEC games. Auburn and Kentucky were both winless in the league, and Tennessee's lone SEC win came over Kentucky. Arkansas' two wins in the league came over Auburn and Kentucky.
We'll let you decide which of the four new coaches is positioned to engineer the best bounce-back season in 2013. In other words, who's going to be this year's Ole Miss, which improved from two wins to seven wins in Hugh Freeze's first season on the job?
So go ahead and vote in our SportsNation poll and we'll review the results next week.
For what it's worth, key quarterback battles are looming at Arkansas, Auburn and Tennessee this spring. Maxwell Smith is the front-runner to win the job at Kentucky, but he'll also have some competition.
