Alabama's triple threat gets the nod

The Alabama trio of quarterback AJ McCarron, running back T.J. Yeldon and receiver Amari Cooper came within an eyelash last season of registering 3,000 passing yards, 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards.

McCarron finished with 2,933 passing yards to just miss the 3,000-yard mark, while Yeldon had 1,108 rushing yards and Cooper 1,000 receiving yards.

The best news for Alabama fans is they all three return in 2013.

We asked the fans last week to pick the top returning offensive triple threat in the SEC, and not surprisingly, McCarron, Yeldon and Cooper came out on top.

More than 9,200 votes have been cast, and Alabama's triple threat received 34 percent of the vote.

Coming in second was the Texas A&M triple threat of Johnny Manziel, Ben Malena and Mike Evans. They received 28 percent of the vote.

Third place went to the Georgia's triple threat of Aaron Murray, Todd Gurley and Malcolm Mitchell. They got 22 percent.
