The ACC and Tennessee

Jim Grobe is too humble to let it get to him, but it's almost inevitable these days that when a vacancy comes up, his name is mentioned. The Tennessee job is no exception.

Grobe has a great relationship with Wake Forest AD Ron Wellman, who has made it pretty tough for Grobe to leave, even when Michigan and Nebraska came calling. Don't be fooled, though, that Grobe is staying forever. If the right opportunity came -- and it would have to be perfect for he and every member of his staff -- they would probably take it. And who could blame them?

While SEC blogger Chris Low didn't mention his name, Duke coach David Cutcliffe would be another candidate that makes sense at Tennessee. They'll want an offensive mind, and Cutcliffe has it, not to mention he spent 19 seasons at Tennessee.

Whoever takes the Tennessee job, though, is one less option for the Clemson job -- Grobe included.
