LSU's Les Miles visiting Cuba during spring break

Les Miles is spending spring break in Cuba.

LSU's football coach is one of numerous U.S. luminaries -- a group headed by President Barack Obama -- who will attend Tuesday's historic exhibition baseball game between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Cuban national team (1:30 p.m. ET/ESPN).

Former LSU star Mikie Mahtook -- now a member of the Rays -- broke the news with a tweet Tuesday morning, and LSU later confirmed Miles is visiting the island this week.

LSU reported that Miles made the trip to visit schools and experience Cuban culture.

After restoring diplomatic relations with the island last year, Obama this week became the first sitting American president to visit Cuba since Calvin Coolidge in 1928.

Tuesday's Rays-Cuba game at Havana's Estadio Latinoamericano marks the first time that an MLB team has visited Cuba since the Baltimore Orioles played an exhibition there in 1999.
