5 Kentucky Players Join NBA Draft

The top 4 scorers on Kentucky's team were all underclassmen this past season and all of them have declared for the NBA Draft. John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Patrick Patterson and Eric Bledsoe each averaged more than 11 points per game. Daniel Orton is also declaring for the draft. Wall and Cousins are projected to be Top 5 picks. Patterson is a junior, the rest are freshmen. The top returning scorer is Darius Miller at less than 7 points per game.

Ben Roethlisberger Case Now In Hands Of District Attorney

The Ben Roethlibeger case is now in the hands of the District Attorney. Milledgeville police have given the investigation report and witness statements to the District Attorney who will decide if there is enough of a case to present to a grand jury. A 20 year old college student accused Roethlisberger of sexually assaulting her in the bathroom of a bar on March 5th. Roethlisberger has not been charged and his lawyer disputes the accusation.

Augusta Chairman Critical Of Woods

Billy Payne, the chairman of Augusta National Golf Club had harsh words for Tiger Woods, saying the world's best golfer disappointed everyone and didn't live up to expectations as a role model. "Our hero did not live up to his status as a role model," Payne said during his annual state of the Masters news conference. "I hope that he realizes every kid he walks by would love to have his swing, but will settle for his smile."

Evan Turner Headed To The NBA

Evan Turner announced that he will forgo his senior season at Ohio State to enter the NBA draft. The 6-foot-7 point guard, who won five major national player of the year awards this season, is projected to be among the top three players selected in the NBA draft in June. Turner led Ohio State to a 29-8 record, Big Ten regular-season and tournament championships and to the Sweet 16. He led the Big Ten in scoring and rebounding and was second in assists.

First One-and-Done Kansas Player

Kansas freshman Xavier Henry is headed for the NBA draft too. He is the Jayhawks' first one-and-done player. The 6-foot-6 guard left no doubt that he hoped to spend only one year in college. Henry averaged 13.4 points and 4.4 rebounds for the team that finished 32-3 and was ranked No. 1 most of the year. Henry, is currently projected to be the No. 14 overall pick in the June draft by draftexpress.com.

Demon Deacons Fire Coach

Wake Forest fired men's basketball coach Dino Gaudio after three seasons. Athletic director Ron Wellman told ESPN.com that he was not pleased with the direction of the program. Gaudio was told of his dismissal Wednesday afternoon and was not aware that he was losing his job, a source told ESPN.com's Andy Katz. Gaudio was hired in 2007, shortly after coach Skip Prosser died of a heart attack and went 61-31 while leading the Demon Deacons to consecutive trips to the NCAA tournament.

Refs Missed This Call

You have to give the nod to the NBA for coming out and admitting their own officials blew the call Tuesday night by not making a call on what the league determined was a foul by the Jazz's C.J. Miles on the Thunder's Kevin Durant 3-point-shot in the last second of overtime ... The 1-point loss could impact the Thunder's chances of winning the Northwest Division title.

Haynesworth Not Going Anywhere

The Washington Redskins are NOT determined to trade DT Albert Haynesworth, a high-ranking Washington source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. According to the source, Haynesworth is the guy the team wants and will be relied on as the starting nose tackle for the Redskins.

Navratilova Diagnosed With Cancer

Tennis legend Martina Navratilova revealed that she is fighting breast cancer. The winner of 167 career singles titles - more than anyone ever, man or woman, told Good Morning America that she was diagnosed while the disease is in the early stages and now faces six weeks of radiation treatment.

New Tiger Woods/Nike Commercial

On the eve of his return to competitive golf, Nike rolled out a new commercial featuring Tiger Woods ... The ad includes the voice of Woods' late father, Earl, talking about taking responsibility for one's actions. Nike was one of a few sponsors to stick by Woods through the scandal that erupted late last year. Woods had been the sports world's biggest moneymaker and was the first $1 billion earner.

Nicklaus, Palmer To Open Play At The Masters

Jack Nicklaus is ready to join Arnold Palmer with a ceremonial drive ahead of the start of the Masters Thursday. It will be Nicklaus’ first appearance in the role. “When I was first asked to do it, I was still playing,” the six-time champion told the Palm Beach Post. “I had no desire to do that.” He hasn't competed at Augusta National since 2005.
