Dallas Braden's Gem of a Day

Dallas Braden had a perfect day for the A's, literally. The 26-year-old lefthander took the mound on Mother's Day looking for his 18th career decision. He walked off of it with the 19th perfect game in MLB history. Braden's gem, the second perfect game in franchise history, led Oakland to a 4-0 victory over Tampa Bay. Braden, who lost his mother to cancer during high school, bear-hugged his grandmother in celebration on a fitting day. Jim "Catfish" Hunter threw the first A's perfect game May 8, 1968. Dave Stewart threw a no-hitter on June 29, 1990. Braden is just the seventh southpaw in MLB history to achieve perfection.
