Clay Buchholz, who is eligible to come off the disabled list on Friday, will make his first start back in Pawtucket, according to a report by Comcast Sports New England. Buchholz had hinted that might be the case before Tuesday's All-Star Game after speaking with pitching coach John Farrell. Buchholz has a strained left hamstring. This move means rookie left-hander Felix Doubront will face the Texas Rangers Friday night in Fenway Park.

ESPN.com's Marc Stein tells us that the Denver Nuggets have reached an agreement in principle on a five-year, $34 million contract with free-agent forward Al Harrington. The Nuggets had to outbid the Dallas Mavericks to secure Harrington's signature after Dallas followed up its acquisition of Tyson Chandler with a hard push for Harrington.

David Beckham wants to play for Britain at the 2012 London Olympics. The Los Angeles Galaxy and England midfielder would be 37 by the time the Olympics come to London. Beckham said today that if he was still playing and could make a difference to the team he'd "love to be involved."
