The Cardinals are hoping to play "Let's Make a Deal" with Astros ace Roy Oswalt. According to the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Oswalt said he's willing to restructure his contract to facilitate a deal to the team. The 32-year-old has about $7 million left on his $15 million salary for this year, plus a guaranteed $16 million next season and either a $2 million buyout or that $16 million option for 2012. The MLB trading deadline is July 31.

MLB Clears Mark Cuban to Bid on Rangers

Mark Cuban is back in the running to become a MLB team owner. The Dallas Mavericks owner has been cleared by Major League Baseball to bid on the Texas Rangers, according to the Dallas Morning News. The Rangers are currently in bankruptcy court while creditors dispute whether the highest value of the team is being obtained. A bid from Cuban could ease the creditors' concerns, allowing Cuban to purchase the team.
