TIGER BY THE TAIL
It was my understanding there would be no math, but the Firestone Country Club has yielded seven of Tiger's 71 PGA Tour wins. That's like, 10%. So how does he tee off his second round this morning (9:50 a.m. ET) 10 shots behind the leader? And the leader is Bubba Watson? Which can only mean that Bubba Watson is the new Tiger Woods. Which can only mean it's a sad day for trick shots.
More of what's happening At This Hour, including the USA Today Preseason Top 25 coaches poll, and your daily Albert Haynesworth update, after the jump.
The USA Today Preseason Top 25 coaches poll is out. The defending champs (Alabama) are right where they were the last time. This time, they took 55 of the 59 first place votes. Ohio State took the other four, and they're second. Boise State is 5th, and that's the highest preseason ranking ever for a team from outside a conference with an automatic bid. They return 22 of 24 starters after running the table last year. If only they can get past Virginia Tech in the opener (in Washington D.C.) one month from today. Which makes today a good day to open practice.
According to the Washington Post, Albert Haynesworth underwent an MRI on his troublesome knee, and it revealed no structural damage. The 'Skins are hoping he'll be back to full strength soon, or at least back to enough strength to pass his fitness test. Because you might have heard that he can't practice until he passes that test. And he didn't take it again today. Just make sure he stays away from the medicine ball.
