Joe Torre's Time In LA

Joe Torre announced he will retire as Los Angeles Dodgers manager at the end of the season -- replaced by hitting coach Don Mattingly. Torre took over the Dodgers for the 2008 season following 12 years and four World Series titles in New York with the Yankees. Torre was named the Dodgers manager on November 1, 2007, replacing the departing Grady Little. In his 1st year, the Dodgers won the NL West and advanced to the NLCS for the 1st time since 1988. The following year they repeated this feat, making it the first time they reached consecutive NLCS's since 1977 and 1978.
