Rams low on bodies in secondary

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- The St. Louis Rams have two days to get some of their walking wounded back into the practice mix, but for now, they're woefully short on players in the secondary.

In Wednesday's practice, the Rams were without cornerbacks Cortland Finnegan (thigh) and Trumaine Johnson (illness), and fellow corner Brandon McGee (thigh) was limited. That trio doesn't include safety Matt Daniels, who is out for the season with an ankle injury, and safety T.J. McDonald, who will spend at least eight weeks on the injured reserve/designated to return list because of a fractured leg.

It's unlikely Johnson will miss much time, but Finnegan's status is a bit more up in the air.

Guard Harvey Dahl was not listed on the report.

Here's the complete rundown from the Rams' Wednesday injury report:

Did not practice: Finnegan, Johnson, OT Rodger Saffold, DE William Hayes

Limited participation: McGee, LB Will Witherspoon (thigh)

And for Jacksonville:

Did not practice: DE Jason Babin (non-injury), WR Mike Brown (back), WR Stephen Burton (concussion), CB Dwayne Gratz (ankle), TE Marcedes Lewis (calf), S Dwight Lowery (concussion), C Brad Meester (non-injury), DT Roy Miller (non-injury), DT Jeremy Mincey (concussion), WR Cecil Shorts (groin)

Limited participation: CB Alan Ball (groin), LB Geno Hayes (hip flexor), WR Denard Robinson (hamstring)
