Breaking down TE Lance Kendricks' contract

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- Perhaps lost in the mix of the first-day free-agent frenzy that came last week was the lucrative contract the St. Louis Rams and tight end Lance Kendricks agreed upon.

Kendricks received a four-year, $18.5 million deal that he said last week wasn't even the biggest offer he received. The deal includes $10 million guaranteed but includes no signing bonus and thus, no proration, which means they could part ways with Kendricks after the first year without any dead money.
