Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck was the no-brainer choice for the Colts, leaving the Rams holding prime real estate for any team hoping to draft Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III. From there, we all know what happened. The Rams brought back a big return for that second pick from Washington, a return that again has them sitting at No. 2.
But this year is different. There's no clear No. 1 choice and the Houston Texans aren't tipping their hand. NFL.com draft guru Gil Brandt tweeted Sunday that as many as seven players could be in play for that first pick, noting he wasn't sure if he'd ever seen such a situation before.
That leaves the Rams wondering about what might happen with that first pick.
