Power Rankings: No. 25 St. Louis Rams

A weekly examination of the Rams' ESPN.com Power Ranking:

Preseason: 15 | Last week: 27 | ESPN.com Power Ranking since 2002

It's rare to see any team actually move up in the rankings after a loss, but that's precisely what the St. Louis Rams did after a valiant, hard-fought effort against the Seattle Seahawks on "Monday Night Football." Granted, the two Pennsylvania teams behind St. Louis did plenty to prove that they deserved to drop this week, but the Rams were rewarded for showing plenty of heart and resolve after the loss of quarterback Sam Bradford.

As for the six-member voting panel, the Rams checked in all over the place on the list with only John Clayton and Jamison Hensley agreeing on the No. 24 ranking. Dan Graziano gave the Rams the most love, moving them up to No. 22, while Mike Sando bumped the Rams back a spot to 28th.

Moving forward, the Rams showed that they do have a defense capable of answering the bell and keeping the team in games, as well as a legitimate running game with Zac Stacy. To ultimately find more wins and gain more ground in the Power Rankings, the Rams will have to prove they can do both of those things consistently and find a way to put the ball in the end zone without Bradford at the helm.
