A look at what happened over the past week in the world of Stanford recruiting.
The Cardinal picked up another commitment, offensive guard Johnny Caspers from Glen Ellyn Ill. Caspers had offers from Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Toledo.
"I came home and had a good talk with my family, and they agreed that Stanford was too good of an opportunity for me to pass up," Caspers told the Chicago Tribune.
Here's a good piece about Caspers from back in May.
Even though Dante Fowler (St. Petersburgh, Fla.) has already committed to Florida State, he will still make an official visit, according to ESPN.com's Corey Long.
"I’m pretty athletic for a big guy and the coaches were telling me how much they liked me and how well I would fit in. I haven’t set up any other visits but I want to check out Stanford, Cal and USC before I make my commitment anywhere.”
Additional notes on players already committed to Stanford.

Blake Martinez (Canyon del Oro, Ariz.) rushed for 83 yards and two scores on 14 carries despite a cast on his right hand for an injured thumb. As a linebacker, he also made a big tackle for a loss on a critical fourth-down play to help in a 36-15 win against Tucson.
