Drew Brees dives into the end zone for a touchdown against the Giants, his first rushing TD since October 25, 2009.
Another game, another 300-yard passing effort for Drew Brees. The Saints quarterback completed 24 of 38 passes for 363 yards and four touchdowns in New Orleans' 49-24 win over the New York Giants Monday. Brees also rushed for a touchdown, the second time this season he's accounted for five total touchdowns.
Brees became the first player with four touchdowns, 350 passing yards and a rushing touchdown on Monday Night Football. He has now thrown for 350 yards or more in 27 career games, tied with Miami Dolphins great Dan Marino for the most such games in the Super Bowl era.
Speaking of Marino, Brees now has 3,689 passing yards on the season. That's 1,395 yards shy of tying Marino for the most yards in a single season. Brees finished 15 yards short of the record in 2008, but with five games left has a shot at breaking it this season. He's averaging a little more than 335 yards per game this season and would need to average 279 yards per game in his last five games to break the record.
Monday was the 38th straight game that Brees has thrown a touchdown, the second-longest streak all-time behind Johnny Unitas who did it in 47 straight games.
Brees posted his second highest Total QBR of the season and his third QBR of 90+ this year, tying him with Tony Romo for second most this season behind Aaron Rodgers. It's his second consecutive game with a QBR of 90+ and all three of his 90+ games have come in his past five games.

Drew Brees by Pre-Snap Location Monday
Brees entered Monday taking 57 percent of his snaps out of the shotgun, but was extremely balanced against the Giants. He also averaged a touchdown every 9.5 attempts out of the shotgun, nearly three times more often than through the Saints’ first 10 games (26.9).
The win improved the Saints to 5-0 at home for the second time in franchise history. They are also 11-0 in November since the start of the 2009 season, the best record of any team in that month.
The 49 points was the most the Giants have ever allowed on Monday Night Football. It's the most points they've allowed in any game since September 19, 1999 when they allowed 50 to the Redskins. New York has allowed 97 points in their last two trips to New Orleans. The Giants have now lost three straight after a win at New England earlier this month.
Despite the lopsided score, Eli Manning threw for 406 yards and two touchdowns. He even completed 21 straight passes at one point, one shy of the all-time record for consecutive completions in a game. It was Manning's second career 400-yard passing game and both have come this season in losses. Manning and Brees became the sixth pair of opposing quarterbacks to throw for at least 350 yards on Monday Night Football.
