Oregon is averaging 56.6 points per game, but lost is the fact that the Ducks have allowed seven third-quarter points and no points in the fourth quarter. Oregon is looking for its first 6-0 start since 2002.

This is Boise State’s final non-conference game of the season. The Broncos have outscored their two non-BCS AQ opponents this season (Wyoming and New Mexico State) 110-6.

Wyoming has lost 12 straight against AP-ranked teams. The Cowboys last win came in 2002 against No. 22 Air Force.

Auburn is looking for its first 6-0 start since 2004, its undefeated season. Kentucky beat Auburn last season to snap a 15-game losing streak in the series. In 31 all-time meetings, Kentucky has never won two straight over Auburn.

The Wildcats enter October as a ranked team for the first time since Oct. 5, 1998, when they were ranked 10th. Arizona is looking to start 5-0 for the first time since 1998.

Iowa State is 9-0 under head coach Paul Rhoads when holding teams under 24 points, 1-8 when allowing more than 24 points. Utah is ranked in the top 10 in the nation in both scoring offense (44.3 points per game, tied for No. 6) and scoring defense (12.8 PPG, No. 7).

Texas A&M has committed 14 turnovers this season, only Buffalo (16), New Mexico, Bowling Green and Louisiana Tech (15 each) have committed more.

LSU is 5-0 for the third time in the last four seasons. In 2007, the Tigers started 6-0, finished 12-2 and won the national championship. Last year, the Tigers lost to Florida after their 5-0 start and finished 9-4. Florida has dealt the Tigers their first loss in each of the last two seasons.

This is the first FSU-Miami matchup without Bobby Bowden on the Seminoles sidelines since Nov. 15, 1975 (24-22 Miami win). Since then, there have been 35 series meetings, with Miami holding a 21-14 edge.
USC (4-1, 1-1) at 16 Stanford (4-1, 1-1), 8 ET on ABC
After posting a 10-31 record in Pac-10 Conference play from 2002-2006, Stanford is 14-15 against conference opponents under head coach Jim Harbaugh.
USC lost last week to Washington. The Trojans have not lost back-to-back conference games since 2001, when they lost three straight games to Oregon, Stanford and Washington.

Denard Robinson needs 95 yards rushing to have 1,000 yards rushing and passing. He is on pace to have 2,172 rushing yards and 2,419 passing yards. (No player has even had 2,000 pass yards and 1,500 rush yards in a single season.)

Saturday’s meeting will be the 120th between these two teams -- the most-played rivalry in the FBS. The Golden Gophers and Badgers have been meeting annually since 1890 except for 1906. Known as “The Battle for Paul Bunyan’s Axe,” the trophy has been awarded to the winner every year since 1948, and won by Wisconsin each of the last six years.

Friday’s matchup pits two of the worst defenses in FBS. Oklahoma State enters this week ranked 96th in total defense (414.5 yards per game) while UL Lafayette is 93rd (408.8).
Colorado (3-1, 0-0) at 24 Missouri (4-0, 0-0), 7 ET
Wednesday was the 20th anniversary of the most famous game in the series: “The 5th Down” game where Colorado took advantage of a gaffe by the officials and scored the game-winning TD on a fifth down. The Buffaloes went on to capture the AP national championship that season, their only national title. Georgia Tech won the UPI/Coaches crown.
Colorado State (1-4, 0-1) at 25 Air Force (4-1, 2-0), 2 ET
Air Force is ranked in the AP Top 25 for the first time since 2002. For the first time since 2004 and seventh time in school history, Colorado State is facing ranked teams in consecutive weeks. Last week, the Rams lost 27-0 to No. 5 TCU.
