The Indianapolis Colts won their 16th straight divisional game, setting the record for the most consecutive divisional wins since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger, according to research from the Elias Sports Bureau.
While doing so, the Colts continued their dominance against the Houston Texans with their sixth straight win over their rivals, improving to 23-4 all-time against them.
Veterans step up
Hasselbeck became the first 40-year-old QB with two passing touchdowns in a game since Mark Brunell in Week 17 of 2010 with the Jets. Additionally, Hasselbeck won consecutive starts for the first time since Weeks 6-7 of 2012 with the Titans.
Johnson caught both of those touchdowns at his old stadium. The former Texan now has seven career games with multiple receiving touchdowns at NRG Stadium, formerly known as Reliant Stadium. The next-most is two by DeAndre Hopkins. Nobody else has more than one.
In total, Johnson now has 40 career receiving touchdowns at NRG/Reliant Stadium, by far the most in the stadium's history. The next-most is 14 by Owen Daniels.
The Texans put Hasselbeck under pressure on one of his 29 dropbacks, the lowest percentage by a J.J. Watt-led Texans defense since Week 17 of his rookie year (2011) against a Tennessee Titans team, also led by Hasselbeck.
Texans moved the ball
The Texans lost despite gaining 444 yards of offense, their most in a loss since Week 9 of 2013, also against the Colts.
Brian Hoyer once again came in relief of Ryan Mallett, throwing for 312 yards. He's the first QB with a 300-yard passing game in relief since Chad Henne in 2012 for the Jaguars. It was the third game this season in which both Texans quarterbacks played.
Hopkins had a monster game without Nate Washington and Cecil Shorts in the lineup (both out with injuries). Hopkins had 11 receptions for 169 yards, the third different player in Texans history with at least 10 receptions and 150 receiving yards, joining Johnson and Kevin Walter.
Jaelen Strong stole some attention from Hopkins' stat-filled night by catching a pair of touchdowns on his first two career targets in first career game. The rookie got it started by catching a Hail Mary TD pass as time expired in the first half.
