MOST GUARANTEED MONEY AT SIGNING
DRAFT PICKS, MLB HISTORY
Bryce Harper, the first junior college player to ever be taken first overall in the MLB draft, signed for $9.9 million Monday night. The contract was inked just seconds before the deadline. The contract is good for the 5th most guaranteed money for a draft pick in MLB history. The record is held by Harper's new teammate Stephen Strasburg who got $15.1 million after being drafted first overall last year.
