Podcast: Should Lyles be in the majors?

You say you like the silly shows in which we kind of make things up as we go along, and Wednesday's Baseball Today podcast with myself, Keith Law and David Schoenfield qualifies, and here are a few reasons why:

1. Each of us had early picks in the ESPN MLB Franchise Player draft, and we discuss who we chose and why. Interesting stuff indeed!

2. Houston Astros prospect Jordan Lyles looked good in his debut, but Mr. Law's issue is why he made his debut this early in the first place.

3. Our thoughts on Athletics GM Billy Beane instructing starting catcher Kurt Suzuki to stay out of harm's way, in light of the Buster Posey injury ... right or wrong?

4. Dave is a Mariners fan, and they found a way to break Jeremy Guthrie's heart Tuesday, but ... is there a "but" coming? Why not the Mariners? How does their offense, such as it is, compare to the defending champion Giants?

5. Interesting night of baseball action on tap, and we choose the pitchers we will be watching closely, including a Baltimore Orioles lefty making his season debut!

Plus: Excellent emails, Dustin Ackley moving to the outfield, Arizona's interesting schedule, more on the upcoming amateur draft, Curtis Granderson goes to his left and so much more on Wednesday's Baseball Today podcast!
