Another Mike Trout is awesome note

After going 2-for-5 with his 17th home run in the Angels' 15-8 win against the Rangers, Mike Trout is now slugging .600.

Here's the list of center fielders who have slugged .600 in a season (working backwards from most recent):

Jim Edmonds

Richard Hidalgo

Brian Giles

Ken Griffey Jr.

Brady Anderson

Fred Lynn

Willie Mays

Mickey Mantle

Hank Aaron (played more than half his games in center field in 1962)

Duke Snider

Joe DiMaggio

Earl Averill

Hack Wilson

Tris Speaker

Ty Cobb

Those 15 players slugged .600 a combined 35 times (as center fielders only). Mays did it six times. Of those 35 seasons, the three highest OPS+ figures all belong to Mantle (1957, 1956, 1961). Trout's current OPS+ would tie him with Mantle's 1955 season for 10th on the list. (All data from Baseball-Reference.com.)
