Mets still mulling including Juan Uribe on World Series roster

KANSAS CITY -- Infielder Juan Uribe has not appeared in a game since departing a pinch-hitting opportunity on Sept. 25 in Cincinnati. Still, the New York Mets are not ruling out Uribe being included on the World Series roster.

Uribe had one final chance to prove he ought to be included when he participated in Monday’s workout at Kauffman Stadium.

“There’s a chance,” manager Terry Collins said.

World Series rosters are due at 11 a.m. ET on Tuesday.

Uribe has been dealing with cartilage damage in his chest. He originally suffered the injury diving for a grounder while manning second base at Citi Field on Sept. 20.

Uribe has won a pair of World Series -- with the Chicago White Sox in 2005 and San Francisco Giants in 2010. He is the only member of the Mets to have won a title.
