I have gotten a look at the contract details for Tampa Bay defensive end Michael Johnson. He signed a five-year deal worth $43.75 million with $23 million in guaranteed money.
In 2014, Johnson will make $5 million in base salary and $4 million from a roster bonus. The numbers are the same for 2015. In 2016, Johnson’s base salary escalates to $7.75 million with a $500,000 workout bonus.
In 2017, the base salary rises to $8.25 million with a $500,000 roster bonus, and the numbers remain the same in 2018.
