Doug Martin. The running back has been cleared to play after missing much of last season with a shoulder injury. That’s great news for the Bucs because Martin will be the focal point of their offense.
George Warhop. Coach Lovie Smith sang the praises of Warhop, the new offensive line coach, during the recent owners meetings. The Bucs have gone out and spent money on the offensive line, signing Anthony Collins, Evan Dietrich-Smith and Oniel Cousins and the team is optimistic that guard Carl Nicks will be ready to return from an injury. Now, it’s up to Warhop to get the most out of this unit.
Mike Williams. The Bucs aren’t thrilled that Williams has been in the news due to off-field issues. But they’re standing by him for now. That could change as the draft rolls around because the Bucs could take a shot on a receiver like Clemson’s Sammy Watkins.
Mike Glennon. The Bucs continue to say nice things about Glennon. But the fact they went out and signed Josh McCown so quickly showed they’re not sold on Glennon. When a new regime brings in its own quarterback, that’s not a good sign for the previous starting quarterback.
