Next on our pre-draft position-by-position look at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, we take a look at running back.
Where things stand: This might be the deepest position on the roster. Doug Martin is the starter, but Mike James and Bobby Rainey showed last year that they can be productive. New coach Lovie Smith has pledged to use a rotation at running back and that should help keep Martin fresh. Former Olympic sprinter Jeff Demps has intrigued the coaching staff and could get a look as a running back or receiver. The Bucs don’t have a clear-cut starter at fullback, but that position may not be a big factor in Jeff Tedford’s offensive scheme.
What to watch for: It’s safe to guess that the Bucs won’t be using a draft pick on a tailback. But they could use a later-round pick on a fullback.
